BiographyJosef Steinböck (Salzburg, Austria) studied bass tuba, music education and instrumental music education as well as jazz at the Vienna Conservatory at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. He completed his diploma examination with unanimous award and appreciation prize of the Federal Minister.
Since 1991 he is a member of the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, since 2002 professor for tuba and brass chamber music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. Since then he has been internationally active as a chamber musician, orchestral musician, soloist, jury member and lecturer.
He is the initiator and artistic director of "Bläserurlaub Bad Goisern" in Austria, the largest international summer course in the German-speaking world.
