Karlheinz Hanser

Biography

The Tyrolean baritone Karlheinz Hanser receives his basic musical education as a choirboy with the Wilten Boys' Choir and through his father Karl Hanser, who worked as a flutist at the Tiroler Landessymphonieorchester. After graduation, he began teaching music and physical education at the Mozarteum Salzburg and Leopold Franzens University Innsbruck, but soon turned to singing as part of the study of instrumental (vocal) education at the Mozarteum University of Salzburg at o.Univ. -prof. Peter Ullrich too. His graduate studies in solo singing were completed by Karlheinz Hanser at KS.Prof. Raimund Grumbach at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich with the opera diploma and the state-certified music teacher. On the opera stage, the baritone was heard in some notable projects of the Munich Opera School (Dr. Peter Kertz) and at the Bavarian Theater Academy. Among other things, he sang the role of Papageno in Mozart's Magic Flute at the Prince Regent Theater in Munich under the direction of Sir Collin Davis. In the concert sector he received significant artistic impulses from Prof. Howard Arman. Concert activity at the Festival of Old Music in Innsbruck and the Berlin Festival of Early Music complement the artistic spectrum.

Karlheinz Hanser gained his first pedagogical experience as a vocal coach with the Wilten Boys Choir (1986-1990) and at the music school of the market town of Wattens (1990-2000). From 1997 to 2007, he led a vocal class in artistic education at the Tiroler Landeskonservatorium in Innsbruck, where he subsequently worked intensively as head of department, department head for singing, artistic advisory board and administrator on the artistic and structural development of the training institution. During this time, Karlheinz Hanser successfully completed a training course for musicians in management at the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI). Lecturing at the Tiroler Musikschulwerk and the Bund Österreichischer Gesangspädagogen complete the job profile of the teacher.

2005 Karlheinz Hanser received the call of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, where he was at the Institute for Voice and Music Theater for the time being as a visiting professor of singing and 2007 was appointed professor in the nominal subject singing. In addition to pedagogical activity, Karlheinz Hanser has been a significant member of the Executive Board and Institute Board (2008-2014), Chairman of the Study Commission for Voice and Music Theater Directorate (2007-2010) and main member of the Senate of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (2009-2013) the artistic and structural reorientation of the vocal study directions within the framework of the university reform. A special concern of the teacher is the targeted promotion of Austrian young singers in close cooperation with music of the youth (jury).

Karlheinz Hanser has established himself as a vocal pedagogue on an international level in recent years.
