Tyrolean Classical Singing Contest

TYROLEAN CLASSIC SINGING PRICE The state of Tyrol and the EVA LIND MUSIC ACADEMY TIROL are writing the Tyrolean Classical Singing Award in cooperation with the ORF Tirol.

The prize, which is awarded every two years, is a gifted grant from the state of Tyrol to support education and training and is endowed with € 5,000.00.

Mrs. Landesrätin Dr. Beate PALFRADER on the intentions of the state of Tyrol: “Tyrol has a great potential of gifted young musicians. The Tyrolean Classical Singing Award is an important impulse for the gifted and supports up-and-coming talents on their way to an international career.


  • The public finale will take place on October 4, 2018 at ORF Landesstudio Tirol / Studio 3.

  • Prof. Gabriele Erhard (Head of the Vocal Department at the Tyrolean State Conservatory)
  • Prof. Eva Lind
  • Angelika Wolff (Opera director at the Tiroler Landestheater)

is carried out by Governor Günther PLATTER and Ms. Landesrätin dr. Beate PALFRADER in the Silver Hall in Schwaz during the gala event EVA LIND MUSIC ACADEMY TIROL GRANDE FINALE on 18.11.2018.

Tyrolean Classical Singing Award eligibility Singers who were born or grew up in Tyrol or whose focus is on studying music in Tyrol can apply for the award. The minimum age of applicants is 16 years, the maximum age is 28 years – each deadline 31.8.2018.

In case of doubt, the jury will decide on the eligibility. The legal process is excluded. applications Musicians who complete training or further education at a music school, conservatory or university can apply for funding. The following documents must be provided for the application:

  • Tabular CV
  • Description of the planned education and training
  • unedited video or audio documentation: 2 songs / arias from different style epochs (one of the two pieces submitted may be selected by the jury for the final)

Applications should be sent per weTransfer to:


  • The submitted documents are evaluated by the jury and the best candidates are invited for public audition. The jury is responsible for the award proposal, it exercises the office completely free and independent, their decisions are incontestable, legal recourse is excluded.
  • The winner of the prize is awarded by the province of Tyrol. As proof of the use, a confirmation of the student’s success as well as a proof of the payment of the tuition fees or training costs is to be presented.
  • The application deadline is August 31, 2018. Applications must be received by EVA LIND MUSIKAKADEMIE TIROL by then. The final selection will take place on 4 October 2018 in front of an audience in ORF Landesstudio Tirol.
